Sindh IG seeks info of two individuals killed alongside Naqeebullah

KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General (IG) AD Khowaja has written to his Punjab counterpart seeking details of the two persons who were killed along with Naqeebullah Mehsud in a fake encounter in the city.

The details of the arrest of two persons, Mohammad Ishaq and Mohammad Sabir, who were arrested from Ahmedpur East and Multan in 2016, have been sought from IG Punjab.

After receiving the details, another case of extrajudicial killing would be filed against suspended SSP Rao Anwar, who is accused of killing these men in a fake police encounter in Karachi.

Both the deceased belonged to Ahmedpur East tehsil in Bahawalpur district of Punjab. Ishaq was a seminary teacher while sabir was the muezzin of a mosque.

Families of Ishaq and Sabir have recorded their statements with the investigative team against Malir police.

According to Sabir’s family, news of his arrest was also published in a newspaper.

AUTHORITIES NAB POLICEMAN:

Police official, Jamil Abbasi, who was posted at the Malir City Police Station and was a guard of Shah Latif Town SHO Amanullah Marwat was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case.

Mehsud’s killing occurred within the limits of the Shah Latif Town Police Station.

Police and counter-terrorism department officials conducted a raid in Quaidabad during which Abbasi was taken into custody.

According to reports, the arrested cop has been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
