ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Interior on Tuesday directed for the withdrawal of a notification that was issued by the government for the suspension of licenses of automatic weapons, reported a local English daily.
It was also said that in case the decision is not implemented, the matter would be taken to the privilege committee of the house.
Chairman Rehman Malik, at the beginning of the committee meeting held at the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services, said that a direction to withdraw the notification issued on Dec 28, 2017 was not implemented.
He added that over 100 parliamentarians suggested withdrawing the notification but the Lahore High Court suspended the notification.
Senator Jamaldini said that every parliamentarian should be allowed three licences for automatic weapons.
