P&S health minister visits DHQ hospital Sheikhupura

  • Inaugurates ultrasound machine on Punjab CM’s behalf

 

LAHORE: On behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Primary and Secondary (P&S) Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir on Wednesday visited Sheikupura’s District Headquarters (DGQ) hospital and inaugurated the newly installed ultrasound machine.

While speaking to the media, Kh Imran Nazir said that a CT scan machine would also be installed at the hospital soon, and would be inaugurated by the chief minister himself. He said the CT scan machines were being installed in all the DHQ hospitals on an outsourcing model and a renowned Japanese company was installing these machines.

The minister was of the view that the CT scan test facility would be provided to the patients of the hospitals free of cost and the test fee would be paid by the government to the operating firm. Kh Imran Nazir said that the machines would remain operational without any interruption as the maintenance of the machine would also be the company’s responsibility.

Meanwhile, Kh Imran Nazir also visited the stalls established in the hospital in connection with the “Khadim-e-Punjab Health Week”, which is being observed across the province.

The minister informed that consolidated blood screening, diagnosis and counselling camps were installed in 750 selected health facilities where blood screening and diagnostic facilities against eight diseases was being provided under one roof.

He also said that the provision of quality healthcare facilities to the people of Punjab was the mission of the chief minister and his government, and according to the CM’s vision, revolutionary steps were being taken for the development and strengthening of the province’s health sector.

“Specialist doctors are being posted in the health facilities of far-flung areas to ensure the availability of health coverage at the doorstep of the people,” he said.

Sheikhupura Deputy Commissioner Arqam Tariq, Sheikhupura Health CEO and other concerned officers and local representatives were also present on the occasion.
