ISLAMABAD: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that his party’s leadership does not believe in the politics of revenge.

He said this while addressing a gathering of party workers of PPP Islamabad and its affiliated organisations at Zardari House, Islamabad on Wednesday.

He also said that in the next general elections, party tickets will be awarded to the candidates who have the confidence of party workers.

Zardari said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto were proud of their workers and he also cherished them. Party workers offered sacrifices for the party and its leadership, he added.

The PPP co-chairman also instructed party workers to start working for the next elections as PPP was destined to form governments in the centre and provinces. “Workers will be valued in the next PPP governments,” he added.

Asif Ali Zardari further said that politics is the name of serving people and resolving their problems and hardships.  He added that PPP leadership has never believed in political revenge.

Separately, politicians from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) called on Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday and announced to join PPP.

Former independent candidate from Mohmand Agency NA-36 Shah Sawar Khan, and from Bajaur Agency NA-44 Muhammad Haseeb Khan joined PPP.

PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) President Humayun Khan, PPP KP Deputy General Secretary Behramand Tangi, Senator Sardar Ali Khan, PPP Mohmand Agency President Dr Farooq Afzal, General Secretary Fazal Hadi and Imtiaz Khan were also present on the occasion.

The PPP co-chairman welcomed the new entrants to the party and said that FATA was neglected in the past by the anti-PPP elements and the party’s target is to make FATA a part of KP province.
