Australian envoy lauds special girls’ cricket talent

ISLAMABAD: Australia’s Deputy High Commissioner Brek Batley lauded the cricket talent of girls from Islamabad Special Education School.

To witness a match among special students, the envoy Wednesday visited Islamabad Special Education School H-9 and interacted with the players.

Appreciating the keen interest and talent of the special girls in cricket, he stated that the players were well prepared for the match and with continued hard work they could reach national level.

The deputy high commissioner further acknowledged that despite many domestic challenges, Pakistani youth remained enthusiastic in sports and games. In his interaction with the players, he encouraged them to deliver their excellent performance during the tournament to achieve victory.

Latter, Brek Bately also played cricket with special girls students and shared rejoicing moments with the team players.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Cricket Board and Australian High Commission in Islamabad are jointly organising “PCB-AHC Girls’ Cup 2018”. The initiative is aimed to empower girls through cricket and promote gender equality through sports.

Talking to APP, the players expressed pleasure for their team selection in the tournament. They expressed that they would win the final by delivering their best performance in the tournament.
