ISLAMABAD: Power tariff is likely to be scaled down by Rs2.97 per unit.

According to media reports, Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed an application seeking the reduction in power tariff by Rs2.97 per unit under the head of fuel adjustment surcharge (FAS) in the month of January.

Furthermore, it has been said in the plea filed by CPPA that 7,982-megawatt electricity was generated during the month of January and 7,698-megawatt electricity was supplied to power distribution companies.

Accordingly, the cost of per unit electricity remained at Rs6.88 and FAS remained at Rs9.86 per unit during the month of January.
