ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Monday that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had initiated a movement for justice.
Addressing the media, the state minister said that for the first time in the country’s history, 10 consecutive years of democracy were being completed.
She said that Nawaz Sharif would fulfil the promises he made to the nation, adding that consultation would take place regarding the appointment of a caretaker prime minister before the next general elections.
She further said that the country would soon see the restoration of international cricket and Pakistan Super League (PSL) would improve the image of the country.
Marriyum, while lauding the role of media in the society, said that media should propagate democracy.
While congratulating political rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on his third marriage, Marriyum said, “I hope this marriage brings peace in his life since he needs it the most.”
PTI on Sunday confirmed Imran’s third marriage with Bushra Riaz Wattoo, who is known as his spiritual guide.
“Wishing PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his wife a happy married life. May Allah bless the couple,” said a tweet by PTI’s official Twitter account on Sunday.
The party issued pictures of Imran’s nikah with Bushra, in which close relatives of the bride could be seen. Imran’s political secretary Awn Chaudhry could also be seen in the images.
