NAB recovers Rs3601.965m in RPPs case

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has recovered Rs 3601.965 million in rental power projects (RPPS) case and distributed the amount among concerned contractors/sponsors and government department.
The NAB has filed 11 references in RPP scandal including Karkey Ship, Piranghaib, Multan, Sahuwal, Sialkot, Guddu, Sindh, Naudero II, Sindh, Summundri Road, Naudero-I Sindh, M/S Reshma Power Generation, Raiwand, M/S Young Gen Power Ltd, Bhikki Sheikhupara and M/S Gulf Rental Power Pvt Ltd in accountability court, Islamabad.
The main accused in these references are former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former minister Shaukat Tareen, former PEPCO chairmen Ismail Qureshi, Shahid Rafi, former PEPCO MD Tahir Basharat Cheema and others.
NAB Rawalpindi DG Irfan Naeem Mangi has said that in light of the directions of NAB Chairman Justice Javad Iqbal, the bureau strongly believed in zero tolerance policy against corruption.
NAB’s anti-corruption campaign is carried out widely for awareness and prevention of corruption besides enforcement across the board.
