Gilgit-Baltistan CM calls on Shehbaz

 

LAHORE: A delegation of cabinet members and advisors of Gilgit-Baltistan headed by Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday.

Shehbaz announced as much as 25 buses for the promotion of tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan along with the provision of financial aid worth Rs1 million to the heirs of Dilawar Abbas, a student of Gilgit-Baltistan who was murdered in Punjab. These buses would be handed over to the Gilgit-Baltistan government after fulfilling the necessary requirements, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan said that they were thankful to Shehbaz Sharif, the Punjab government as well as the people for extending their support for the development of Gilgit-Baltistan. “We have come here to express gratitude for the technical assistance and support rendered by the Punjab government in every sector,” he said.

Appreciating the Punjab chief minister’s hard work, he said that Shehbaz developed Punjab as a model province with regard to composite development, and due to his wonderful performance, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) stood succeeded in Gilgit-Baltistan.

“CM Shehbaz by providing Punjab government’s resources for development in Gilgit-Baltistan presented a great sacrifice,” he added.

He also said that a 300-bed hospital was also being developed in collaboration with the Punjab government and Punjab’s support in the fields of health and education was praiseworthy. Meanwhile, the Punjab government was also lending full support in the teachers training programme, he said and added that Shehbaz was the Gilgit-Baltistan government’s ideal.

“We are fully benefiting from his developmental vision,” he said.

The Gilgit –Baltistan chief minister said that due to Shehbaz Sharif’s cooperation, a state-of-the-art MRI centre was also established and the people of the area were well-wishing for Shehbaz owing to the provision of this facility.

“We have completed the safe city project with the technical assistance of the Punjab government while the students of Gilgit-Baltistan are also seeking education in educational institutions of Punjab. We can never forget the love and affection shown by the Punjab government by doubling the quota of Gilgit-Baltistan in the engineering sector,” he added.

“We have learnt a lot from Shehbaz Sharif’s vision and are proud to be his pupil,” while also pointing out that the Punjab chief minister took a strict-action against the murder of a student of Gilgit-Baltistan in Punjab.

The PML-N government did tremendous development work in Gilgit-Baltistan during the last two and a half years that had no match in the 70 years history of the country, he said.

“Due to the governmental efforts, peace has been restored fully and not even a single incident of murder has been reported in long, which now has resulted in a largely increased number of tourists. We need the technical assistance of the Punjab government for the up-gradation of different sectors including infrastructural development, transport and computerisation of land record. It is sanguine that the urban unit of the Punjab government has provided necessary support in maintaining general cleanliness,” said the Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister.

He also offered to provide a piece of land for the construction of Punjab House in Nulter.

On the occasion, CM Shehbaz said the residents of Gilgit-Baltistan were our brothers and the people and government of Punjab were ready to provide them with an all-out support.

“Pakistan will prosper only when all its federating units will be developed,” said the Punjab chief minister while adding that Pakistan could become a great country only with collective efforts.

“The services provided by the Punjab government to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan were our obligations and the Punjab government will continue to provide every possible assistance for the development of different sectors of Gilgit-Baltistan,” added Shehbaz.

He remarked that the computerisation of land records of Gilgit-Baltistan would be a great service and the Punjab government was ready to provide every possible support in this regard. He said that the Gilgit-Baltistan government was moving ahead in the right direction under the leadership of Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman and his efforts for the development of the province were laudable.

“Allah Almighty also supports us when we move forward by following the principles of honesty, hard work and trust,” concluded Shehbaz.

SARDAR MEHTAB KHAN ABBASI CALLS ON CM PUNJAB

Earlier, Advisor to Prime Minister on Civil Aviation Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest including development schemes and political situation in the country came under discussion. Mehtab congratulated the chief minister over the wonderful success of the PML-N in the recently held by-election of Lodhran’s NA-154 constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz said that the by-election in Lodhran was writing on the wall for the elements engaged in negative politics, as the voters showed full confidence over the leadership and policies of the PML-N.

“The policies of transparency, public service, trust and honesty have won while the elements that created hurdles in national development through sit-ins have been defeated. In fact, there is no room for the politics of anarchy in the country,” said the chief minister while adding that the pivot of the politics of PML-N was public service.

He said that the PML-N had become the most popular party in the country due to its positive politics while the opponents of national development and prosperity were now politically alienated. “The negative politics of sit-ins and lockdowns have died and those who adopted the approach of individualism have incurred heavy losses to the country,” concluded Shehbaz.

Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi said that the Punjab chief minister had greatly served the people of the province and the masses loved Shehbaz Sharif from the core of their hearts. The examples of development in Punjab were being given everywhere, he added.
