ISLAMABAD: Azerbaijan’s Finance Minister Samir Sharifov on Monday briefly visited Pakistan and delivered a special message from Azerbaijan’s president to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in order to seek Pakistan’s support for hosting Expo 2025 and World Bank Conference 2021 in Baku.
The prime minister assured him that Azerbaijan’s president’s request for support would be considered.
The two sides exchanged views on possible cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially in the energy and agriculture sectors and discussed various measures to enhance bilateral trade.
They also discussed the current situation in Indian occupied Kashmir and Nagorno-Karabakh and reiterated continued mutual support over the disputes.
