RAWALPINDI: Potohar Division police in their crackdown against kite sellers and kite flying ban violators rounded up 75 accused during last three days and recovered 8,000 kites and 81 kite-flying string rolls from their possession.
According to Potohar Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Ali, 45 FIRs were registered in different police stations during three days and the accused were sent behind the bars.
Talking to APP, he informed that police on the special directive of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan would continue raids to book the rules violators and no one would be allowed to violate the kite flying ban.
He further said that special squads had been formed to net the violators.
Syed Ali said that two pistols, six rounds, a searchlight, LED lights, sound system and other items were also seized.
A police spokesman informed that Cantt Circle DSP Raja Tafoor, RA Bazar SHO Tariq Masood, Race Course SHO Rifhat Mahmood, Civil Line SHO Yasir Abbas and other police officers conducted raids in their jurisdictions and the kite sellers and kite flying ban violators were rounded up.
