KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday that the differently-abled children need our special attention, care and love so that they could be made useful citizens of our country.
The CM expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of newly constructed Rehabilitation Centre at Dar-ul-Sukkun located at Kashmir road. He was accompanied by provincial Minister for Social Welfare, Shamim Mumtaz.
He said that on the fourth day in his office as the chief minister, he had visited Dar-ul-Sukkun. After listening to the problems, he had announced to extend every possible support to this institution, he reminded.
“These are our children and we have to look after them so that they could establish themselves,” he said and adding that these are the prayers of these children that our country is progressing with each passing day.
Murad said that the staff members and administration of Dar-ul-Sukkun are dedicated and devoted persons, and this is why the construction of the building was able to be completed within a year and a half.
Earlier, the chief minister unveiled the plaque to inaugurate the newly constructed ground-plus two-story building. He visited different departments, portions and rehabilitation unit.
Murad Shah said that he is satisfied to see the rehabilitation unit of Dar-ul-Sukkun which is equipped with the latest machinery.
“You have set up your own medical unit to provide medical treatment to the children living here for which you deserve applause,” he said and vowed to keep his support. “You are doing a great work and everyone needs to support you,” he said.
The administration of Dar-ul-Sukkun thanked the chief minister for extending financial and other support which made the construction of the new building possible.
The CM was presented with a souvenir on which his hand-made portrait was inscribed. The differently-abled children also presented a tableau to welcome the chief minister.
