MANSEHRA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Friday said that the “people’s court” has absolved the former prime minister by assuring his party’s victory in Lodhran by-polls.

Addressing a social media convention in Mansehra district, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz said, “The verdict will now be passed by the people and not the courts” as she took a pledge from the people that they will ensure that the sanctity of their vote is respected.

“The more you will try to press down Nawaz Sharif, the stronger he will emerge,” Maryam told a roaring crowd at Baffa Town in Mansehra in the PML’s first social media convention in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Maryam stated that slapping a contempt of court on Nawaz is a “contempt of vote” of all those who voted for the PML-N.

“The court of the people exonerated Nawaz Sharif. One after the other, the people’s court gave its verdict, as it did in Lodhran,” she said.

Taking a jibe at National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) request to place Nawaz on the Exit Control List (ECL), Maryam stated that “we are not the kind who run away” and went on to add that the graves of their forefathers are here and they will be [buried] here as well. He will stay here in your hearts.

Despite all the odds against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ‘strongest’ candidate Ali Tareen, Jahangir Tareen’s son, she said the party’s ‘unknown candidate’ managed to win the election by a huge margin.

Referring to Lodhran by-elections, she said Imran Khan could not find an escape after his party’s loss in the constituency and after the loss, he is now saying our candidate wasn’t qualified.

Further criticising the PTI chairman, the former first daughter said everything connected to Imran is a lie, including the change he promised to bring.

The former first daughter also asked how an elected candidate can be called a plunderer. “Calling an elected candidate a plunderer is an explanation of which constitutional law?”

Politics of allegations buried in Lodhran:

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif said that holding an iqama was not a crime big enough to warrant the disqualification of an elected prime minister. He further said that conspiracies will no longer work because the people buried the politics of allegations in NA-154 Lodhran by-poll.

Talking to party workers at his residence Jati Umra after Jumma prayers, Nawaz said that PML-N has always constructed roads, motorways and ended the issue of electricity outage in the country. He further said that China – Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will change the fate of the people.

“Some conspirators ousted me on the basis of an iqama because they could find no other evidence against me and are now continuously filing supplementary references against me,” he said.

  1. People of Lodhran have been adequately insulted first by a shameful class composition which is N league specialty and to top it all Nawaz is so afraid to face Lodhran people . He asked for protection from these people and this Bullet Proof rostrum is a witness.
