Shehbaz ‘zero without Nawaz’: Ch Shujaat

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Thursday said that Shehbaz Sharif was zero without Nawaz Sharif, and had no role in politics without his elder brother.

He said this while speaking to the media after visiting the residence of MNA Rana Muhammad Hayat in Phool Nagar along with Dr Azeemuddin Zahid Lakhvi to condole the demise of Rana Hayat’s father.

Ch Shujaat said that Nawaz’s trials were being done by a “retired judge” while his and Parvez Elahi’s accountability was done by the “generals”.

Replying to a question, he said that if the court orders to put Nawaz’s name on the exit control list (ECL) then the directives should be followed. Saying that his name had been on the ECL too, Ch Shujaat added that Nawaz should show due regard to the prestigious courts.

Stating that to say anything about when the general election would be held was “premature”, the PML-Q president said whether Nawaz would be there in the next elections or not depended on the court’s verdict.

Speaking about the current political situation of Balochistan, he said that the Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo belonged to the PML-Q and all political parties had given him the vote of trust.

He also said that the next prime minister would be the one who is blessed with honour and victory by Allah, and the PML-Q currently was seeking other parties’ support for its Senate polls candidate, Kamil Ali Agha’s success.
