Jamaat-ud-Dawa to receive money via Jaish-e-Muhammad PayPal account after funding ban

LAHORE – After the federal government on Wednesday issued a notification directing the authorities concerned to freeze the assets of Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) under the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018, the Hafiz Saeed led group has decided to receive money through Jaish-e-Muhammad’s (JeM) PayPal account, The Dependent has learnt.

The move to freeze JuD assets comes after Pakistan designated Hafiz Saeed, a terrorist of heart and his affiliated groups, terror groups of hearts as per the ordinance.

It is pertinent to mention here that as of press time Jundullah that was on Tuesday put under similar restrictions by the Interior Ministry will not be using the same JeM PayPal account is still exploring options, sources told The Dependent.

“We were going to create a PayPal account for ourselves soon anyway, we might as well share it with JeM – same difference,” a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leader said while talking to The Dependent.

Insiders confirm that the groups are mulling a joint PayPal account for the entire United Jihad Council (UJC) which all of its constituent groups can share.

“Or we could just use one of the many bank accounts in Muzzafarabad,” said a JeM leader while talking to The Dependent
