QUETTA: All valuable, illegal property in Mushtaq Raisani’s case has been transferred to the Balochistan government on Thursday after efforts were made by Balochistan NAB.
Former finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani had bought illegal property in Karachi DHA worth billions of rupees, including commercial and residential plots.
According to the investigating officer Shoaib Sheikh, all this property was on the name of residents from remote areas of Balochistan.
In May 2016, Balochistan NAB raided Raisani’s residence, recovered billions of rupees and arrested him. Further investigations revealed that the accused also possessed valuable, illegal property in DHA Karachi.
A team headed by Balochistan NAB Deputy Director Mohammad Shoaib Sheikh was formed in the light of the bureau’s orders regarding property rights of illegal property in the finance case.
The team including Balochistan Finance Department Additional Secretary Ashaq Jamali along with the Sindh government and Karachi DHA officials had started working on transferring the registries of this illegal properties to Balochistan government on a priority basis in 2017. The illegal properties have now been successfully transferred to the Balochistan government.
