KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) lawmaker Salman Mujahid Baloch, who was charged with rape after a woman alleged him of sexually exploiting her, has now been charged in another case for kidnapping and making death threats at Taimuria police station here on Thursday.

The woman, named Aleena, had previously filed a complaint against the MQM MNA, elected from NA-239 (Karachi-I) constituency, at Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station on Tuesday and had sought protection from Mujahid. She claimed that Mujahid had raped her in 2014 and is now blackmailing her and her family through a video recording of the incident, demanding millions of rupees.

“He stalked me for some time when I would visit Jinnah Garden with my mother and eventually forged a bond with my mother on the pretext of finding me a good job,” Aleena claimed.

“He took me with him to Islamabad twice and formed trust by giving me a separate room in the Parliament Lodges that was reserved for his daughter.”

In the complaint, Aleena said that Muhajid, raped Aleena at the lodges when she was a minor and when Aleena told about the incident to her mother, Mujahid apparently apologised and promised that he will marry her but never fulfilled his promise and raped her multiple times after that by blackmailing her through the video.

She added that Salman Mujahid also tortured her brother and is now demanding four million rupees along with pressurising her husband to divorce her.

In TV interviews, Aleena Khan said that Mujahid used to stalk her and had kidnapped the guards near her home and had them assaulted.

“He asks them for details as to where do I go and who is in my house at all times,” she said. “I demand protection from the government against this man.”

“Salman Mujahid is a mental patient who will torture you in the morning and ask for forgiveness in the evening,” Aleena alleged.

She claimed to have submitted complaints to relevant authorities but to no avail.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Mujahid had lodged a complaint against Aleena, alleging that she fraudulently took Rs4 million from him for her mother’s supposed treatment at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.

“I demand that he prove his allegations, and if he manages to do so, I am willing to beg on the streets and repay all of his money,” said Aleena.
