Six outlaws including dacoits and street criminals held

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Sabzi Mandi and Tarnol Police on Wednesday arrested three dacoits and as many street criminals besides recovering mobile phones as well as weapons from them, a police spokesman said.

According to details, Islamabad SSP Najeebur Rehman Bugvi assigned the task to SP Industrial-Area Liaqat Hayat Niazi to accelerate efforts to arrest criminals. A police team headed by ASP Abdul Wahab and other officials succeeded to arrest three street criminals, identified as Mujeebullah, Hikmatullah and Buland Iqbal.

Police recovered eight snatched mobiles and two pistols from their possession.

According to an initial investigation, the accused confessed that they along with other accomplices committed crimes in Sabzi Mandi area.

On a tip-off, SP Saddar Muhammad Amir Khan Niazi constituted a special team including SHO Tarnol Police, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Iqbal and others.

The team raided the hideout of dacoits at Madina Town area and arrested three dacoits while they were planning to commit dacoity in an adjoining area. They have been identified as Muhammad Niaz, Javed Khan and Gul Wali.

Police also recovered two pistols from them and they confessed to committing crime in various areas of the city.
