KARACHI: PPP leader and ousted prime minister, Yousuf Raza Gillani on Wednesday said that defeat in the by-election is the karma of Imran Khan’s curse to parliament as people answer through their votes.
He was talking to the media following his appearance in the anti-corruption court pertaining to the multi-billion TDAP corruption case. Gillani stated that Bilawal Bhutto is reorganizing the party by making important reforms and PPP will emerge as a strong power in the ensuing general elections. He observed that they and their forefathers remained MNA’s from Lodhran.
On the topic of MQM-P’s rift, he opined that it is their internal matter and cited the example of Saeed Ghani in Karachi.
Earlier, the federal anti-corruption court failed to hear the TDAP corruption case against 26 people including Yusuf Raza Gillani as the disgraced PM’s counsel was reportedly busy in another court. There has been no accountability for the last 6 years.
A junior lawyer told the court that Farooq H. Naek, Gillani’s counsel was busy in Peshawar High Court (PHC) and therefore, the hearing should be postponed further.
During the hearing, Yousuf Raza Gillani also filed an application for the adjournment. The court adjourned the case’s proceedings for another month, and the next hearing is on 21 March.
