ATTACKS ON SECURITY OFFICIALS:

It is becoming increasingly common in Quetta for militants to target security officials, along with religious minorities.

In January, two Balochistan Constabulary personnel were gunned down, while one injured by unidentified men on Quetta’s Double Road, according to reports.

The personnel were reportedly deployed at a flyover in the area for security duty.

In another such incident, at least five security personnel were martyred and six others were injured near Kech district of Balochistan.

According to reports, unidentified armed men opened fire on a security convoy near Shapook area of the district. As a result, one of the vehicles in the convoy turned turtle after the attack, killing five personnel.
