Balochistan CM expresses sorrow over martyrdom of FC personnel

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qadoos Bizenjo on Wednesday expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and said that he will not rest until all terrorism is eliminated from the region.

He said that four FC officials gave their lives for the protection of the lives and properties of the people, adding that the sacrifices given by the forces against terrorism will not go in vain. He further said that they equally shared the grief of the victims.

Earlier, Balochistan Inspector General (IG) Moazzam Khan Ansari, while talking to journalists, said that 3 to 4 militants targeted the FC personnel using Kalashnikovs and 9mm pistols. He further said that the FC personnel were on patrol duty in the morning and there were no eyewitnesses, adding that it will take some time to track the militants.

He also said that while the work on Quetta Safe City project was underway but there were CCTV cameras at the site because of its remote location.

Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also condemned the attack on FC personnel in Quetta. He said that security forces are fighting bravely and will defeat terrorism with the support of the nation.
