Lodhran victory represents triumph of ‘movement for justice’, sanctity of vote: Marriyum

ISLAMABAD: The victory of a PML-N candidate in the Lodhran by-election is the first glad tiding in regards to the triumph of the movement for justice and restoration of the sanctity of vote promised by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, which proves that the people of Pakistan are standing with him.

This was stated by State Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb while talking to the media outside an accountability court here on Tuesday.

She said that Pakistan is witnessing how ineligibility is transforming into eligibility.

Marriyum said that the victory was a sequel to the fulfilment of pledges that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its leader made with the people in 2013. She also said that the people were convinced that Nawaz Sharif would also redeem his pledge for the restoration of justice and sanctity of the vote just as he has fulfilled his earlier promises.

The minister said that by the grace of God, the first moon of PML-N’s victory in 2018 had emerged from Lodhran. The result of the by-election indicated whom the people would cast their votes for: the man who brought China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) or the one who only embellished containers; the one who eliminated terrorism or the one who attacked parliament; the man who winched the country out of bankruptcy and put it on the road to progress and ended darkness or the one who generated electricity through memorandums of understanding (MOU).

Marriyum emphasised that the people had understood the difference and the ruling party’s victory in Lodhran amply proved that.

Responding to a question, the minister said that the people had voted for PML-N because Nawaz Sharif had fulfilled all his promises during three stints as the prime minister.

She observed that in 2013, Imran Khan had boasted that he would produce enough electricity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to power the entire country, however, people are witness to the reality of the federal and Punjab governments producing electricity for KP’s requirements.

Marriyum further said that Nawaz Sharif had taken upon himself the responsibility to ensure that whoever becomes prime minister in the future, cannot be ousted.

“The people of Pakistan are also delivering their verdict against the JITs report, which is a matter of immense pleasure,” she added.

The minister concluded by saying that the people will not vote for those who failed to accomplish even a single development project either for KP or the country.

“People will vote for the party which accomplished things PTI promised and was supposed to do,” she observed.
