Zubair meets KBA delegation, says Asma Jahangir’s services are indelible

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair said on Monday that lawyer community has an important role in the provision of justice and eradication of social ills.

Talking to a delegation of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) at the Governor House, he appreciated the great sacrifices rendered by lawyers for democracy.

The delegation comprised KBA President Advocate Haider Imran, Vice President Advocate Haneef Qureshi, General Secretary Advocate Ashraf Ali and others.

Zubair said the government will make all possible efforts to address problems being faced by lawyers.

On the occasion, the delegation invited the governor for attending KBA oath-taking ceremony which was accepted by him.

He said that the government has taken many measures for the dispensation of justice at people’s doorstep. He added that besides others institutions, provincial ombudsman is also playing an active role in this regard.

The governor said that the demise of renowned lawyer Asma Jahangir is a great loss to the legal fraternity, adding that her struggle for human rights and her services will be remembered for generations to come.
