Nisar ‘not loyal, trustworthy by nature’: Ghulam Sarwar

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Monday severely criticised former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and said he (Nisar) was “not loyal and trustworthy by nature”.

He alleged that currently, the former interior minister was blackmailing his own party, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the name of Dawn Leaks despite the fact that he was in power for the last 30 years and was enjoying all the honour and respect.

‘Dawn Leaks’, a news story published by Dawn last year had highlighted alleged confrontation between the civilian and military leadership, which had erupted a storm in the national politics and later transformed into a news leak scandal.

While speaking to Online, he said that Nisar had enjoyed the ministry for four and half years, but it was now that he realised it was time to unveil the Dawn Leaks issue.

“Along with Dawn Leaks, Nisar has also carried several alarming disclosers and now was threatening of revealing those disclosers only to terrify former prime minister Nawaz and his daughter Maryam Nawaz,” he added.

Replying to a question, Sarwar stated that for 30 years Nisar had been seen backstabbing the party leadership during crucial times.

“By highlighting the Dawn Leaks issue, Nisar actually wants to strike a deal with Nawaz,” he alleged.

Responding to another question about the possibility that Nisar may join the PTI, Sarwar stated that the former interior minister wished to do so, but the PTI had no room for such dishonest and hypocritical leaders.

He said that currently Nisar was lining in the category of political orphans and that is why he was blackmailing his party leadership.

“Everyone knows that Nisar had given the orders to open fire on the protestors of the Faizabad sit-in as a result of which some seven people were killed,” he further said.

He said that Nisar was drenched in the quagmire of corruption from head to toe and no one anywhere in the country could find an opportunist and venal politician like Nisar.
