ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry after lifting the ban, started issuing weapon licenses according to a set policy here, on Monday.
In the first phase, the interior ministry will issue non-prohibited bore licenses to federal government employees.
Sources from the ministry have informed that as of now, they are collecting applications of federal government employees and soon applications for the issuance of weapons licenses from the general public would also be entertained as well.
It is pertinent to mention here that government employee applications can only be accepted through their concerned departments.
The ministry has confirmed that licenses would be issued as per their quota to the citizens of Islamabad and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) on the basis of their domicile.
