LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the Punjab government is liable to public service and rather than hollow slogans as it believes in practical measures.

Shehbaz Sharif shared these views in a meeting with a group of assembly members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday.

The CM said: “We [the PML-N] have served the people wholeheartedly by maintaining peace, end of the energy crisis and setting the country on the road of development– the bright examples of our public service.”

The chief minister further said that the regime of the PML-N is a period of transparency, service and patriotism and claimed that the progress the country has made in the last four and a half years was unprecedented.

Touting the mega development projects in Punjab, he said that the projects, such as Metro Bus Service and Orange Line Metro Train, are the evident examples of spending resources on public welfare.

“In contrast to the past, the PML-N has completed the projects speedily and we are moving toward our destination of a prosperous, peaceful, developed and bright Pakistan,” he said, adding that the projects of public welfare are being completed with transparency, quality and speed.

He claimed that the culture of transparency and merit has been promoted during the rule of the PML-N, adding that the international institutions also acknowledge the reduction in corruption and increase of transparency.

He said that the government provided modern medical devices to the hospitals across the province—State of the Art Burn Unit is an example which is being set up in Multan.

Commenting on the road network built under the PML-N government, he said that the construction of a two-way road from Muzaffargarh to Dera Ghazi Khan, worth of billion rupees, is under way, while a two-way road from the Khanwal to Lodharan is also moving forward smoothly.
