ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday invited former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to join his party’s fold.

During an informal conversation with newsmen, Khan said that it would be better if Nisar joins PTI and went on to pledge his support to the former interior minister even he chooses to contest the next election as an independent candidate.

“At times, one has to have a bigger heart in politics,” he said.

Commenting on the possibility of an alliance with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the PTI chairman once again rejected the idea. “Alliance with Bilawal means an alliance with Zardari, which is impossible,” he stated.

“We could even support Nisar if he runs as an independent candidate in the upcoming general elections,” he said.

The PTI chief said that “if Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif bring back the billions of rupees they have hidden overseas then they will have my forgiveness”.

Imran informed that his party has finalised names of six candidates for Senate elections and commended his party’s decision to not quit the assemblies.

He stated that Maulana Samiul Haq is an ally and he could be given additional votes [for Senate elections].

The PTI chief further claimed that an individual had offered Rs 400 million for a Senate ticket, adding that if he came to power, his party will get Senate elections conducted directly.
