Aleem Khan claims Punjab govt failed to facilitate masses

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Punjab President Abdul Aleem Khan on Sunday said that the Punjab government cannot claim good governance in the province as it failed to provide basic amenities to the public.

Lashing out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) government for poor performance in the province, the PTI leader said that the chief minister had nothing to say in the court and made excuses to get more time on it.

He said the clean drinking water is the basic right of the masses and no government can deprive the people of this facility.

During his visit to different areas of the NA-122 constituency in Gari Shahu, he said that ‘showy projects’ of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif have failed to facilitate people, claiming “they are meant for making big commissions for the front men of the Sharif family”.

He said that people would never give another chance to the PML-N as it did nothing in the quarter century for the masses and rather added to woes of the general public.

He visited different areas like Gujja Pir, Bibi Pak Daman, Dharampura and Gari Shahu and met PTI local leaders Munir Aftab Bhatti, Haji Javed Feroze, Syed Taqqi Shah, Hafiz Sohail and Furrukh Majeed Bhatti. He also met people of these areas and enquired about the local issues.

The locals ‘admired’ the role of Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation for providing clean drinking water irrespective of any political affiliation and free dispensaries in the areas of the NA-122 constituency.

Meanwhile, PTI’s central Punjab delegation headed by Central Vice President Shoaib Siddiquee took active participation in the by-election of the NA-154 in Lodhran and all wings remained busy in a door to door campaign.

They also established a task force for the polling day which would ensure discipline and minimise the chances of rigging.

MPA Shoaib Siddiquee claimed that the PML-N has already accepted its defeat in NA-154 as no prominent leader dared to take part in the electoral campaign.

He said that this success would prove that 2018 is the year of change and this trend would cover the country. He said that on the directions of Aleem Khan, comprehensive arrangements have been ensured for February 12 and vowed that Ali Khan Tareen, son of disqualified PTI leader Jahangir Tareen, will win the polls with a thumping majority.
