ISLAMABAD: A team of Pakistan Standard and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) raided eight illegal bottled drinking water units during its ongoing drive of a crackdown against sub-standards bottled drinking water in the country.
The units included Saka Pure Drinking Water, RO Plant, Capri Water, Aqua Clean, Sea Breeze and QMA Water. The authority seized on the spot the units situated at Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13 D, Malir areas of Karachi, and Mirpur Khas, a press release said.
The units were involved in illegal manufacturing, stocking and sale of bottled drinking water which is prohibited without having a license of PSQCA as per SRO. 638(I)/2001 dated: 12-09-2001, and PSQCA Act VI of 1996.
PSQCA Director General Engr Muhammad Khalid Siddiq said, “Our teams are working against sub-standards bottled drinking water and strict action would be taken against the companies if they are found illegal.”
