ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Sultan Azam Temuri has said that a school would be established for children of employees of Islamabad police and utmost efforts would be made to ensure quality education to them.
It was stated by him while presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office held to review the education and admission facilities for the children of policemen at government and private educational institutions of Islamabad, a police source said.
The IGP said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by Islamabad police with Islamabad Superior Group of Colleges for free education to children of police martyrs from playgroup to PhD levels. He added that education will be completely free for children of martyrs of Islamabad police, while 40 to 60 per cent concession and scholarships would be given to children of other employees of Islamabad police at all levels.
There are around 30 schools and colleges of this group in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Temuri also said that welfare of Islamabad policemen is a top priority and a school of a high standard would be set up for their children.
About drug pushing activities at educational institutions, he said that assistance of administrators of schools would be required to check such activities at educational institutions. He added that administrators should also monitor their staff to check such activities and to inform police in case of observing any suspicious activity.
The IGP asked the administrators to launch awareness sessions with parents of children to ensure their security and Islamabad police would cooperate in this regard.
