LHC CJ takes notice of lawyer’s murder in Ferozewala

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali on Thursday took notice of a senior lawyer’s murder in Ferozewala police precinct.

According to a LHC press release, the Chief Justice sought a detailed report from LHC registrar in this regard.

Ferozewala bar member Pervez Akhtar Cheema, 50, was on his way to his chamber at tehsil court on Wednesday in a car when two suspects riding a motorbike ambushed him and opened fire. Cheema was rushed to a Lahore hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Meanwhile, the lawyers’ fraternity observed strike in protest against the murder of their colleague and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
