ISLAMABAD:  A cafeteria— run by a group of transgender persons led by Bubbly Malik— at the Rawalpindi campus of the National College of Arts, was closed down around four months ago, according to a report by The Express Tribune.

The cafeteria had initially begun operating at the Rawalpindi campus of NCA in September 2015. However, a change in NCA’s management in late 2017 did not prove to be fruitful for the management of the cafeteria.

According to Malik, the new management of NCA had major issues with them; they even accused them of providing substandard food. The move, Malik said, had dealt a blow to the confidence of the entire transgender community.
