QUETTA: An accountability court on Wednesday granted 14-day physical remand of former Balochistan food minister Mir Izhar Hussain Khoso for questioning with regard to his alleged involvement in embezzlement of Rs 280 million.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the lawmaker before the accountability judge to obtain his physical remand for interrogation.
While granting the request for remand, the court directed NAB officials to produce him on next hearing along with a progress report.
A day earlier, a team of NAB officials had arrested and shifted him to its regional headquarters in Quetta.
Khoso, a sitting member of Balochistan Assembly associated with PML-N, has been accused of causing a loss of Rs 280 million to the national exchequer, according to official sources.
He was elected from the provincial assembly constituency (PB-27) in Jaffarabad in 2013 elections.
