KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khowaja ordered the police officials on Tuesday to point out corrupt cops in the police department and remove them from their service if found guilty.
Addressing a meeting of high-ranking police officials at the Saleem Wahidi Auditorium in Clifton, the IGP said that there is no acceptance for corrupt policemen in the force. He asked all Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) to take an immediate legal disciplinary and action against corrupt policemen and dismiss them if found guilty.
In the backdrop of Naqibullah and Intezar murder cases, the IGP instructed police officers for ensuring complete implementation of the police reforms and standard operating procedures. He also instructed all range DIGs to ensure Rao Anwar’s arrest through coordination.
He ordered DIG CIA to work harder to eliminate street crime, target killings and other crimes to safeguard the life and property of people. He asked them to send a complete report in this regard to the City Police Officer on daily basis.
He further instructed for taking extraordinary security steps to protect all important places in the metropolis, such as sensitive installations, government and semi-government buildings, railway stations, airports, industrial and commercial centres and all places of worship.
He urged officials to resolve all pending problems of the families of martyred police officers within a month. He said departmental action would be initiated against those who use delaying tactics to solve the problems faced by the windows.
