Shehbaz makes surprise visit to brick kiln on outskirts of Kasur:

CM Shehbaz got his helicopter landed in the agricultural fields outside of Kasur on Monday. He made a surprise visit to inspect the situation of the brick kilns situated on the outskirts of the city and expressed strong indignation over children being involved in physical labour.

He ordered a legal action against the owner of the brick kiln and on the directives by the chief minister the owner of the kiln was arrested. He directed the concerned officials to register a case against the owner and ordered that the children working at the brick kiln be immediately admitted to schools.

Upon seeing the dirty hands of the children, CM Shehbaz advised them to seek education as ample resources have been provided for the education of children working at brick kilns. The children and the families are given monthly stipends along with the provision of free books, bags, uniforms and shoes so that the child could study without being burdened, he said.

We have given pens and books in the hands of the children to ensure a bright future for them. The future of these children is associated with education, therefore, the children should be admitted to schools. He directed that the deputy commissioners and the DPOs should regularly visit brick kilns adding that child labor, especially at brick kilns will not be tolerated at any cost.

An action will be taken against the owner of the brick kiln where children are being forced for physical labour. I shall also make surprise inspections to brick kilns, the chief minister added.

A large number of people from the nearby localities gathered on the occasion and chanted slogans of ‘long-live Shehbaz Sharif’.
