LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira on Sunday commented that the Sharif brothers ridiculed state institutions.
While addressing party workers at Lahore’s Badami Bagh, Kaira stated that Nawaz had earlier assured he will accept the Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict but denounced it once it came out.
“Sharif brothers have ridiculed the institutions of the state,” he said, adding that Nawaz should be prepared to go to Adiala Jail [Rawalpindi].
“The Sharif brothers used to level corruption allegations against PPP, now the courts have declared the entire family as thieves,” he observed.
The PPP leader stated that during former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf’s tenure, party leaders were held accountable before the courts.
“Mian Sahab [Nawaz Sharif], the heirs of Lahore are here,” he warned and went on to inform that PPP will hold a rally at Mochi Gate on Monday on the occasion on Kashmir Day.
Referencing to Indian occupied Kashmir, he said that Kashmiris have made many sacrifices for Pakistan’s independence and Pakistan will return the favour.
“The people of Pakistan are standing with Kashmiris,” he said. “Both India and United States have launched an attack on Pakistan.”
