LAHORE: Police took suspects into custody over alleged rape and murder charges of three minors in different cities of Punjab on Saturday.
The body of a 12-year-old boy was found on Burewala’s Multan Road early Saturday morning, who was reportedly raped before being killed.
The boy named Ali Manzoor, who was a resident of Azeemabad, had left his house for tuition two days ago but never came back. The victim’s family helped the police arrest the prime suspect in the case.
Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the issue and ordered a prompt inquiry into the incident and has asked for a report to be submitted by the DPO on the matter.
Earlier in the day, the body of a seven-year-old boy, who was allegedly raped and then killed was found in Gujranwala’s Kamoke town.
The child was strangulated to death after being sexually assaulted, according to the authorities.
Two domestic workers, employed at the victim’s house, have been taken into custody and currently being investigated.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man in Jhelum’s Mangla Cantt area was arrested for allegedly trying to rape a seven-year-old girl.
According to the police, the man, who was the girl’s neighbour, nabbed her and took her inside his house, where he purportedly tried to sexually abuse her.
Upon hearing the girl’s screams, her paternal uncle forced his way into the accused’s house.
The suspect fled the scene by climbing over the house’s gate, however, he was later arrested by the police.
