ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday discussed the party’s strategy for Senate elections during a meeting of the central executive committee’s core group.

The meeting was chaired by the PTI Chairman Imran Khan, whereas various senior leaders – including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Shah Farman, Ali Amin Gandapur, Fawad Chaudhry and Azam Swati –besides others attended the meeting.

A brief press release that was released after the meeting did not mention if any names were finalised for the Senate polls that are slated for March 3.

One of PTI’s senators, Azam Swati, is scheduled to retire in March, whereas the rest of the six senators will continue till March 2021.

It currently is the fourth largest party in the Senate.

The PTI expects to win at least six more Senate seats during the March 3 election, thus taking the PTI’s strength to 12, according to reports.
