LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said the performance of those playing politics of baseless allegations and falsehood is evident before the nation. Instead of serving the masses, these people have wasted time in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.
How will those who have exhibited worst performance in their province now face the people? He said that the masses are fully aware and have understood the agenda of the elements engaged in falsehood and deceit because these elements have already wasted the nation’s precious time with their agitations, lockdown and sit-ins.
Power and authority are the means of selfless service to the people and the liars should understand that the people cannot be served through baseless allegations. He said that the “sit-in group” will be held accountable for wasting precious time of the nation and obstructing projects of public welfare.
The chief minister said that the conscious people of Pakistan will once again reject such elements in the upcoming general elections. He said that the elements doing baseless criticism on development projects of public importance are an enemy of prosperity and progress of the people. The elements creating hurdles in development schemes meant for the welfare of the masses, could not bear an end to the deprivations of the common people.
The opponents of development projects do not want progress of the people and national development. He also said that Punjab’s previous rulers did nothing but corruption in the name of development schemes during their tenures. The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government has transformed the graveyards of corruption into minarets of development, said the chief minister while adding that the past rulers had increased the problems of the people with their loot and corruption and paid no heed to solve the issues faced by the masses.
The chief minister also said that the elements creating hurdles for the people and making the nation a hostage of darkness are perturbed over the journey of development of the common people.
A handful of elements will continue to oppose the prosperity of the masses, but we will continue the selfless journey of public service, concluded CM Shehbaz.
