ISLAMABAD: The National Judicial Policymaking Committee led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has recently issued new policy guidelines to get rid of backlog in court cases, reported The News.
According to the new policy guidelines, cases like stay orders, rent etc. should be decided within a period of six months. The judgment should be passed within 30 days of hearing the arguments and should not be reserved for more than three months.
According to sources, the NJPC also decided to set up expert court/special dedicated courts and it was decided that alternate dispute resolution methods should be adopted to resolve disputes of general public.
The committee decided to use information technology to decrease the backlog of cases and to improve the existing process of serving notices/summons etc. to check delays.
