Transgender shot for refusing relationship

 

RAWALPINDI: A drunken man injured a transgender in a firing incident after she refused to become his friend, police said on Thursday.

The accused Tariq opened fire on a transgender Sonia in Pandora Chung with New Town police station jurisdiction, leading to Sonia’s injuries. The victim was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital for medical treatment.

Police said that the accused was arrested and a case was registered against him.

Last year, a transgender man had been gunned down within Civil Lines police station’s jurisdiction.

Aurangzeb alias Naila, a resident of Multan, had been residing at a flat at Mureer Chowk where unknown persons had broken into the flat and shot the transgender dead.
