Alexis Sanchez reconfirms if he managed to complete transfer in time after defeat at Spurs

LONDON – Chile and Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez called his agent from the Wembley dressing room immediately after his side’s two nil defeat to Tottenham Hotspurs to check if he did manage to move from his former club Arsenal within the deadline for the January transfer window, The Dependent has learnt.

Sanchez who moved to Manchester United from Arsenal in a swap deal involving Henrik Mkhitaryan inquired from his agent if there might’ve been a mistake.

“I am still in North London, wearing red and surrounded by footballers who can’t seem to defend,” the Chilean told his agent.

“Also, aiming for the top four is the target and it would in fact be progress over last season,” he further added.

Sources within the Manchester United team management confirmed that Sanchez wasn’t quite reassured till the team bus actually left London.

“He still keeps checking his IDs, work permit and yes keeps calling his agent,” a Manchester United player told The Dependent.

“I think it won’t be till our Champions League clash against Sevilla later this month that he would be reassured that the move was indeed completed in time.”
