LAHORE: Punjab Emergency Service (PES) has provided services to victims of 740 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
According to Rescue 1122, eight people were killed while 457 sustained serious injuries in these accidents. However, 350 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after the provision of first aid.
According to the details, 336 drivers, 16 juvenile drivers, 110 pedestrians and 369 passengers were among the victims of these road crashes. The statistics showed that 198 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 195 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 79 in Faisalabad with 86 victims and Multan at the third position with 54 accidents and 61 victims.
As many as 547 motorcycles, 129 rickshaws, 77 cars, 31 vans, 10 buses, 34 trucks and 100 other vehicles besides slow-moving carts were involved in the accidents.
