ABBOTTABAD: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday allowed the application of a fact-finding committee seeking exhumation of the body of 12-year old housemaid Misbah, who died at the residence of provincial Higher Education Minister Mushtaq Ghani’s brother Shoaib Ghani.

According to sources, a fact-finding committee constituted by DIG Hazara to determine the cause of death of the minor employed by Higher Education Minister Mushtaq Ghani’s brother Shoaib Ghani recommended the request for grave exhumation and post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of the young housemaid’s death.

Judicial Magistrate Aijazur Rehman allowed the request for an exhumation of the girl’s body.

Misbah had died mysteriously at a hospital in Abbottabad on January 25. Her body is expected to be exhumed on Thursday for medical examination.

The fact-finding body stated that if the postmortem report established that the girl died of torture, then legal action would be taken against her employers.

It also expressed displeasure that the body remained at a hospital for more than an hour and was examined by medical officers there, but they failed to established the cause of her death.

The committee has recommended action against the doctors who examined Misbah over their dereliction of duty.

Earlier, Mushtaq Ghani, in a video message after the death of the child maid, had stated, “I am as sorrowful about Misbah’s death as her family. I have no objection to a probe into her death”.

Criticising those who had alleged foul play at work in the death of the child, Mushtaq Ghani stated, “The ones known for mud-slinging have been doing propaganda”.

“Every single person is busy scoring points”, he further added.
