Child pornography: Three inquiries underway in Punjab

LAHORE: Three investigations into child pornographic videos are underway under the supervision of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), according to a local media outlet.

According to the report, Deputy Director of FIA Cybercrime Wing Khalid Anis said that one of the suspects in the inquiry, Taimur Maqsood, was arrested from Jhang last week, whereas the other one is from the Attock district.

The third investigation is into one Saadat who was arrested from Sargodha last year.

According to the FIA official, Saadat was found in possession of around 65,000 videos of Pakistani children— the suspect himself was featured in some of these videos.

All banks have been sent letters seeking account details of the suspect, Taimur Maqsood, who is allegedly part of an international gang. The suspect’s mobile phone and laptop data have also been sent to a forensic lab for further investigation.

60 gigabytes of data, a laptop, mobile phone, videos of minor children from other countries, banned films and other equipment were recovered from the suspect Taimoor.

Following the child sexual assault incidents, a two-member team was constituted by the FIA Cybercrime Wing Rawalpindi, in order to further investigate child pornography countrywide.
