Varun Dhawan’s Madame Tussauds childhood dream comes true

HONG KONG: Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan is the youngest name from Bollywood to have a wax figure at Hong Kong’s Madame Tussauds.

“It is a massive honour. The kind of love and appreciation that I am getting for my figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is overwhelming. I am definitely excited as I got my parents and sister to travel with me to see this.”

“This was a big dream for me as a child. I always dreamt about this, and today it is coming true,” Varun said while interacting with the media.

Varun also expressed his excitement and happiness on his social media accounts. Sharing pictures of himself with his wax statue, Varun wrote on Instagram, “Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Such a massive day for everyone involved in my life. Proud to be present here. Thank you to my fans. You guys voted, tweeted put out the love and that’s why I am here.”

In another post on Twitter, the actor wrote that the jacket sported by the statue is the same as what he wore in ABCD2 and that now “this piece of my movie is here forever.”

The actor, who is the son of renowned Bollywood director David Dhawan, made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year along with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in 2012.

On how he handles stardom and fans, Varun said, “I never actually prepared for stardom. The most important thing is that I want to be an actor, I want to be on screens and do films and I am getting to do that. And today being an actor doesn’t only mean that you are being an actor in one country because of digital mediums. Audiences are all over the world as everyone can enjoy your song and films online.”

“I’m not content yet. I would like to explore what it is and I want to do more. I feel like there is much more than I can do. There are so many new and different things that I can explore. I’m excited now as it is a new field, starting with my new film October. So currently, I’m trying to do something new,” he said when asked on what the future holds.

Varun will be seen next in Shootjit Sircar’s October and in Sui Dhaaga opposite Anushka Sharma. He has been actively promoting his upcoming ventures.
