Security forces recover arms, grenades in Mardan IBO

ISLAMABAD: Security forces on Tuesday conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mardan and recovered arms and grenades.

Sources revealed that two suicide jackets, one 30-bore pistol and two hand grenades were recovered from near Shankar Bazar Katlang Bank road in Mardan.

The grenades were neutralised by the bomb disposal squad on the spot while jackets were packed in plastic bags.

Last week, Pakistan Rangers Sindh uncovered a huge cache of ammunition and guns in a compound in Karachi’s Liaquatabad Town. On the basis of intelligence they had received, the Rangers carried out an investigation in Liaquatabad Town’s Naseer Square Sharifabad.

During the search, they uncovered guns and ammunition hidden underground by Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s (MQM-L) militant wing. According to the Rangers, the ammunition was intended to be used for violence and target killing in the city.
