PTI demands restoration of sacked policemen

KARACHI: Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh leader Haleem Adil Sheikh said on Tuesday that instead of giving employment to the people, the government has started snatching sources of livelihood from people spreading unemployment in the province.

He was addressing a protest staged by the sacked policemen who belonged to the Sindh Reserve Police (SRP). The protestors had gathered in front of the Karachi Press Club (KPC) demanding the restoration of their jobs.

Haleem Adil Sheikh said it is strange that the same Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government first recruited these people and then removed them from their service.

He demanded the restoration of their jobs, as he said that they are the breadwinners of their families.

No one in the government is serious enough to give attention to the voice of the deprived people, said Adil.

Haleem said poor people are protesting for their fundamental rights but the Sindh government is not serious to address their problems. He questioned the Sindh government if it wanted these trained, but jobless policemen to commit robberies in order to feed their children?

He alleged that Sindh government has also forced teachers and growers to protest in order to get their rights.

He demanded to restore the sacked cops immediately.
