Nawaz politically victimised on basis of incomplete reference: Marriyum

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the filing of a new reference against former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif corroborated the fact that the previous reference was incomplete and he was politically victimised on the basis of an incomplete reference.

Talking to the media outside the Accountability Court here Tuesday, the minister asked that which law of the country allowed legal proceedings on the basis of an incomplete reference. She said that neither any law permitted it nor the case was being prosecuted in conformity with the law.

The PML-N, however, was not overawed by the permeating situation, she added.

The minister said that mammoth public rallies and the support witnessed for the former prime minister were a ranting testimony to the fact that the decision of SC against Nawaz Sharif was not acceptable to the people of Pakistan. The people, she said, had unswerving faith and trust in his leadership.

She said that a London-based company, which doled out charms and amulets, was investigating against the thrice-elected prime minister. She said that even today, they were searching for incriminating evidence against the former prime minister whom they ousted on the basis of ‘Iqama’.

The minister said that all the courts in Pakistan were giving verdicts about Nawaz Sharif at the moment.

She reiterated that in her estimation, it was imperative for the future of the country that the decisions were delivered strictly according to the laws of the land. She, however, expressed the hope that justice would be done in the case of the former prime minister.
