Pakistani model, hostess, singer, and actress Mathira recently parted ways with her husband, Dubai-based Punjabi rapper, Flint J. The couple has a son together.

Mathira in a series of posts on Instagram opened up about the marital struggles, life after divorce and how she is concentrating on her and her son’s future.

Mathira wrote about the struggles she had to face while trying to maintain a “happy” lifestyle while there were issues that clearly needed to be dealt with. In the end, one path split into two and with the divorce finally done, Mathira looks forward to her quest of finding her new “self”, the existential quest that we all are in our own lives.

She admitted that there was much pain that came with the “cold words” from someone that she loved and still does. One of the many new challenges that Mathira will have to take on is the stereotypical mind frame that there’s something wrong with the woman, leading to divorce.

“It was not easy and yes people will judge me in the society because the woman is always blamed and labelled.”

Addressing her ex-husband, Mathira wrote, “My absence won’t be missed I know. The last public I love you…rockstar you have everything you want! At least one of us is living the dream and having a good time! You say I was a dark phase of your life okay! I always said I can’t live without you but today you cut me and left me no option now I have too! There is no going back. Congratulations on your freedom Flint J. Single life back in action!”

The woman of many talents says that she is ready to accept everything thrown her way so that she can be an inspiration for her son, hoping that he’ll become the best version of himself when he’s grown up.

This isn’t just the story of a single woman, but a mother who now has to take care of her “lifeline” which is how she defines young Aahil. Many single mothers can relate to this story of having been “cut out” of a normal lifestyle but have still managed.

Her last post read, “But pain is like water. It finds a way to push through any seal. There’s no way to stop it. Sometimes you have to let yourself sink inside of it before you can learn how to swim to the surface.”

Mathira is defining herself as a woman, who instead of losing herself to depression or hate, has taken the higher road and decided to develop from the heartache and invest into a brighter lifestyle alongside her son.
